The World Like Never Before

The mother of four!

As I sit with the conflicting items of news that surrounds me this morning, I am grateful for the 40 years of practice and training that I have been afforded.

Forty years ago I was a young mother of six girls, the oldest only 10. Life was busy with their needs, their laughter and songs. Being a mother was all that I had wanted or expected for my life. Baking bread, sewing clothes, going for walks and finding time to keep up with the basic house cleaning. What more could I want?
Nothing really... and my natural curiosity was soon to open a door that I didn't know I wanted or needed.
You see, in my religious community, it was the male who was made in the image of "god". It was the male who had the ear of "god" and could speak for this unseen deity. That was okay with me. I was too busy taking care of babies and young children to worry about "god". After all, if "god" had wanted me to think, ponder and communicate on weightier subjects, "he" would have put my soul into a male body. Such was my reasoning. Since that was not the case, I had only to say, "yes honey" to what me husband told me was correct. Stand against the idea of Equal Rights for Women... "Yes honey". The Beattle's are a subversive force.... "yes honey". Keep your own dreams in check and put all of your energy into making my life better ... "yes honey."
Until my curiosity was peaked!
When a friend of my husband asked if he could come and share a way that every man could get answers from "god" in a way that there would be no mistake... my own ears perked up. Curious... And as I served pie and ice cream to the two men, I lingered with my serving long enough to hear this magical method.
Two days later, after my husband was off to work, my older daughters were off to school and the younger ones down for a nap, I went into my quiet bedroom to try the magic. And, even though I was still a soul in a female body, I heard "the" voice! Yes indeed! I, a women, wife and mother heard the voice from beyond and my life has never been the same.
And it is time to share my journey with the magnificent, funny, honest, compassionate, wise, all-knowing, all-seeing, all-caring presence.
Why?
Because it is something that you may not know that you need or want... and we all do.
